BeatSignal started with a simple frustration: getting press coverage for a new product shouldn't require a $600/month subscription to a media database that was last updated when Twitter was still called Twitter.

We're a small team of founders and engineers who've launched products, written cold emails at midnight, and watched pitches disappear into inboxes because they went to the wrong reporter — or the right reporter with the wrong angle. So we built the tool we wished existed.

What we believe

  • The best pitches reference the reporter's actual work, not a generic beat description.
  • You should be able to build a targeted media list in minutes, not days.
  • Filtering out PR wires, .edu/.gov, and company blogs is table stakes — not a premium feature.
  • Tools should be priced so a solo founder can afford them on launch day.
